Entitled. Impressionable. Lazy. Self-centered. Irresponsible. Spoiled. These are just some of the words we hear when the term “millennial” is brought up in conversation.
I don’t know about you guys but a few months into the COVID-19 craziness, my diet took a turn for the worst. I was over-working, over-stressing, and over-snacking. I started feeling out of control, exhausted, and frankly, unmotivated to change anything that I was doing.
I’ll be the first to tell you that I cannot live without my venti cup of coffee every day. It fuels me. With it…I thrive, and no, I’m not being dramatic (well, okay maybe a little).
Since you have decided to embark on this journey with me, I feel it’s only fair that I check in with you every so often. So here we are, life update #1.
Once upon a time, in another life, I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Management. My absolute favorite courses revolved around pastry because 1.) I love the science involved with creating absolutely perfect breads and treats and 2.) I have a MAJOR sweet tooth.
Did you know that 85% of Americans suffer from low self-esteem?! 85 percent!!! That’s abysmal. We have GOT to do better. But, it starts from within.
Picture this: A looming deadline for an important project at work, one you’re not super excited about getting done, a large cup of coffee, and a mind coming up with 8 jillion new ideas a minute, none of which have anything to do with the task at hand. You know that if you just put in a few solid hours of work, you’d be done with this project and back to doing the things you want to be doing, but for some reason, you just can’t get yourself to focus.
One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone judges another person for not “working hard enough.” Up until the last couple of decades or so, people were taught to aspire to working 50+ hours a week because long hours meant you were achieving your goals.
